Mickey is an experienced petroleum engineer with a broad background in completions and reservoir engineering. Along with his role of Co-CEO, Mickey also leads the company’s engineering and operations functions.
Mickey previously served as Vice President of Engineering at Accelerate Resources where he led the company’s technical functions related to acquisitions, evaluations, reserves, and asset management. Prior to Accelerate Mickey held management and senior technical roles at Pioneer Natural Resources, helping to execute operations and optimize development in the Midland Basin and Eagle Ford Shale. He developed Pioneer’s first pore pressure model for the Midland Basin and has written and presented multiple technical papers through SPE and ARMA. Mickey’s experience also includes roles with NuTech Energy and Halliburton where he evaluated, designed and frac’d conventional and unconventional wells in most major basins across the United States.
Mickey holds a B.S. in Engineering from Oklahoma State, an M.Div. from SW Baptist Theological Seminary, an Masters in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from University of Oklahoma. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Kenny is an experienced finance executive with broad experience spanning public and PE-backed E&P companies, private equity and investment banking. Along with his role of Co-CEO, Kenny also oversees the company’s corporate finance functions and strategy.
Prior to Driftwood, Kenny was Vice President of Finance at Accelerate Resources where he led the company’s strategic and corporate finance efforts including acquisitions, forecasting, hedging, accounting, and credit facility. Previously Kenny was the Treasurer and Director of Finance for RSP Permian, Inc., helping to execute $4 billion of capital markets transactions, including acquisitions and development capital sourcing following its IPO in 2014. Kenny was a member of RSP’s executive committee and oversaw RSP’s budgeting, credit facility, cash management, hedging program, and investor relations. He has held previous roles at Natural Gas Partners and at Barclays Capital in the Global Natural Resources Group.
Kenny holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas Business Honors Program and was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Energy in 2017.
Tom is a seasoned petroleum geologist with extensive experience across multiple basins and multiple play types including coal bed methane, tight gas sands, tight oil carbonates, tight oil sands, and oil and gas shales. Tom leads the company’s technical functions in reservoir characterization, play evaluation, geology, geochemistry, petrophysics, geophysics, and development planning.
Prior to Driftwood, Tom was Vice President of Geoscience at Accelerate Resources and led the company’s sub-surface and geological functions. Previously, Tom held various management roles at Pioneer Natural Resources leading multidisciplinary teams in New Plays and the Permian. At Pioneer Tom’s team provided detailed play evaluations for both emerging and mature US Shale Basins. He also led the reservoir characterization of each horizontal target in the Midland Basin and created well performance prediction maps that steered the development of the company’s 900,000 acre position. Earlier in Tom’s career he was an Exploration Geologist in Encana’s New Ventures Team and was fortunate to be able to contribute to the discovery and assessment of the Haynesville, Collingwood/Utica, and East Texas Eagle Ford shale. He also has significant experience in the Rockies, South Texas, Anadarko Basin, and Appalachian regions.
Tom holds a B.A. in Geology (cum laude) from the University of Kentucky and an M.S. in Earth Sciences (with honors) from the University of Memphis.
Brent is an experienced oil and gas A&D professional and landman with over a decade of experience in the most active shale basins in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. Brent leads the company’s business development and land functions, including operating agreements and landowner negotiations.
Prior to Driftwood, Brent was Director of Land at Accelerate Resources and led efforts in sourcing new opportunities in the Midland Basin and other major US shale plays where Accelerate had interest. Brent also oversaw due diligence, contract negotiations, leasing programs, and asset management. Prior to Accelerate Brent worked at Plantation Petroleum, Encana, and EOG Resources leading key functions related to large acquisition programs, lease and development negotiations, management of large leases with aggressive drilling programs, and strategic divestment initiatives. Brent has served as the regional liaison for multiple state regulatory authorities and large mineral owners. He has significant experience in the Midland and Delaware Basins as well as the Eagle Ford, Barnett, and the Haynesville Shales.
Brent holds a BBA from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech. Brent is a Certified Professional Landman through the American Association of Professional Landmen.
Nick is an experienced petroleum engineer with a strong technical background in drilling engineering. Nick serves as Director of Operations where he oversees the Drilling, Completions, Facilities, and Production activities of the company.
Prior to joining Driftwood Energy, Nick was a Staff Drilling Engineer at Pioneer Natural Resources where he held technical advisor roles in the Permian Asset Team and Corporate Innovation groups as well as managed drilling operations for two rigs in the Permian basin. While at Pioneer, Nick progressed various drilling technologies and started the company’s physics-based drilling initiative, PXDrill. Prior to Pioneer, Nick was a Drilling Engineer at ExxonMobil where he helped plan and execute the drilling of world record ERD wells as part of the Sakhalin Drill Team off the east coast of Russia. Nick also worked as a field drilling engineer in the Piceance basin of Colorado and in the San Andres Means field in West Texas.
Nick holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin where he was also a member of the Pi Epsilon Tau Petroleum Engineering Honors Society.
Wes is the Director of Land at Driftwood, where he is heavily involved in all parts of the company's land efforts, including asset management, business development, title review, operating agreements, and landowner negotiations.
Prior to Driftwood, Wes spent five years as a Landman at Eland Energy Inc./Sundown Energy LP where he handled A&D and managed operated assets in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana & Mississippi and non-operated assets in over 20 producing states. Before that, he worked three years as a Field Landman in various plays throughout Texas.
Wes holds a B.A. and M.S. from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Professional Landman through the American Association of Professional Landmen.
